Jasper van der Kolk is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Network and Data Science at the Central European University. In December 2024 he obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Barcelona, with a doctoral thesis entitled "The onset of geometry in complex network" supervised by Marián Boguñá and M. Ángeles Serrano. He also holds a MSc. in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the Ludwig Maximilians University and the Technical University München, as well as a BSc. in Physics and Astronomy from the Radboud University Nijmegen.

His research focuses on applying concepts from statistical physics to the complex networks framework. Currently, Jasper is working with Prof. Barabasi on the "Dynasnet" Synergy-ERC project.
