Bukyoung Jhun is an affiliate research fellow at the Department of Network and Data Science at Central European University. He obtained his PhD in Physics in August 2023 from the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Seoul National University. His doctoral research investigated topics in complexity science such as phase transition and critical phenomena in higher-order epidemics, phase transition in high-dimensional open quantum systems, application of graph neural networks on control and prediction of cascading failures in infrastructure networks, effective containment of epidemics, and topological analysis of latent geometry of complex networks.
His research focuses on the application of statistical physics in complex systems; specifically, on the inference and reconstruction of complex networks, network epidemiology, latent geometry of complex networks, and nonequilibrium phase transition and critical phenomena in complex systems.
