In this paper, the authors (including J. Kertész of DNDS) describe the endless feedback loop in the human-AI ecosystem that gives rise to complex and often “unintended” social outcomes creating a new field at the intersection of AI-research and complexity science. They analyze pros and cons of existing methodologies, provide real-world examples, and point out major challenges.
