Juliana Pereira Receives Academic Achievement Award for First-Year Doctoral Students

February 14, 2020

Juliana Pereira - PhD student at the Department of Network and Data Science - has received the Academic Achievement Award for First-Year Doctoral Students for the 2018/2019 academic year. Congratulations!

Juliana’s PhD thesis is about pollination networks and habitat connectivity in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. She is using a database from the Atlantic Series of the journal Ecology, which is the result of a compilation of observations of species interactions across this biome. First, joint species distribution modeling is being used to reconstruct the local pollination networks throughout the Atlantic Forest from the data. The next steps will revolve around examining how spatial connectivity, landscape and environmental variables are related to the structure and composition of the local pollination networks.

CEU provides incentives for academic excellence and rewards those promising students who, with their work, have shown outstanding academic potential. The CEU Academic Achievement Awards for First-Year Doctoral Students reward outstanding coursework and performance during the comprehensive exam.
