DNDS at IC2S2 2025

July 24, 2025

This July, members of our department participated in the International Conference on Computational Social Science (IC2S2) in Norrköping, Sweden.

With more than ten talks and ten posters presented by current and former members of the department, DNDS showcased a broad and interdisciplinary research portfolio at the world’s leading venue for computational social science. Topics ranged from network modeling, behavioral dynamics, and digital discourse to epidemic modeling, social inequality, and public policy—reflecting the department’s ongoing commitment to addressing pressing societal questions through data and theory.

The presentations included both theoretical advances—such as higher-order representations of social interactions and structural drivers of network inequality—and empirical case studies, exploring public procurement networks, cross-national behavioural responses, AI-driven persuasion, and the role of proximity and kinship in cultural evolution.

Many of these projects were the result of international collaborations, and several involved doctoral and postdoctoral researchers, underlining DNDS’s emphasis on training the next generation of scholars in the field.

We are proud to see DNDS at the forefront of this vibrant and growing research community.
